The Vagabond sure know how to throw a great fundraising event!

  2. Zoe says:

Fan-freakin’tastic! Total awesomesauce – particularly the ethical porn from issue 2. I like my shagging guilt-free, thanks :D

Reposted you on Facebook and blogged you @ http://socialsmores.blogspot.com/2009/11/httpvagmagorg.html

  3. William Catlett says:

I haven’t made it through the whole issue yet. But you cats over at Vagmag are doing it right. So many people have no idea what’s really going on or what they are wearing or eating. Or if they do know, the question that follows is… What can I do about it? I like how Vagmag gives an answer to those questions along with knowledge to open your mind to the reality of the things you think you love. “Good on ya Mates.”

Good read guys very well done.

  5. Heather says:

I really liked Issue 2. I found it much easier to read than 1 – not so cluttered and the articles in it actually appealed to me.

I was particularly amazed to read about FFF – what on earth will people think of next!!! Very funny.

Keep up the good work – I’m looking forward to Issue 3.

  6. A. Plinte says:

Issue 2 is so awesome! Well done again!
Im gonna be spreading this mag like wildfire!

  7. Wade Angelo says:

Wow! Love the website and an even more informative second issue! Can’t wait to read the next! Well Done Vagabond!!

  8. Big Mama says:

Your mag has really highlighted how each of us can make a change, however large or small, to make this world a better place! I hope that you will get enough sponsers to be able to take this to print (on recyled paper or course) Keep them coming – they are a great read!

  9. Chris Domingo says:

I honestly had never thought of the implications my choice of internet ‘viewing’ might have… With that in mind, i choose not to use any earlier said vids tonight… Thanks vagabond ;)

As always, a great read. Keep up the good work

  10. Liz says:

I think the porno on the front page is unnecessary, and demeaning to women.

It stands in the way people who support equality to read the mag, if we first have to get past a front page that says, in its images and headline “men wear suits and are powerful. women are porn candy. yay patriarchy and thank goodness we don’t have to care what women think, because da menz rulz”

One of your “friends” on the back page is a group that looks after kids impacted by sexual abuse.

The most radical social concept is that all people, regarless of where they live, their social status or their gender, have equal value. Your magazine purports to support this.

You have no doubt chosen the porn because porn sells, or porn is edgy and controversial or post-whatever. In fact, porn is deeply conservative. It is hetronormative. It is the opposite of radical. But it does attract attention which I guess is what you are after.

But you have to ask yourself first whether your articles are of sufficient value to gain traction without the pornification of women (they are) and whether you are alienating one sector when you attract another – and in fact alienating the very people who might otherwise be attracted to the content of the mag.

I read the first issue, and I must say it was amazing.
Brilliant job, guys. It was very inspirational!

  12. A. Plinte says:

    Dear Vagabond,

I am writing this email because I believe you will make the real efforts in helping with (through music, writing, media, speech, invention) all issues of global and societal change.

I am one of the biggest skeptics going around; I question absolutely everything from the current established media that is force fed down my throat right through to the dismay of my mother…her own cooking. Yes, I am basically a border line hyperventilating misanthropist cynic. However, I think the movie I am sharing with you is one of the most captivating, eye-opening and philosophical messages ever entrenched in film.
If you have already seen it, a big kudos to you – now, help spread the word!

So, please if this is the last thing you ever take my advice on or you ever do in terms of a recommendation from me, PLEASE watch this entire movie & hopefully sign the petition and join the movement (as attached on the following links). As challenging as it may be in places, please sit back, (as those ol’codgers say) relax and think about the concepts being explained and discussed. Some of it is really out there – but take it with a grain of salt…the underlying msg is there.

Yes, you may already have a good grasp of what “really” goes on around us – but if anything, the last half of this movie will really tie up any loose ends, tie back in with the introduction and will further answer your undying questions. Above all else it may shine light on what could be our purpose in life & how we can possibly go about achieving it.

I know what you are thinking right now…I should probably have just said this is the best friggin porno ever made! – That would’ve guaranteed some views, but because I felt the same way too when it was first suggested to me, I simply encourage you to just take the leap, follow the link, press play and see what happens. You dont have to agree, no ones forcing you to do anything. Its just a grand idea.

Hold On To Your Seats & Your Minds.
    Big Love.
    A Fan Of Yours…
    A. Plinte.

  13. saurabh shukla says:

Well done. You guys drag the attention to things that are neglected or are forgot after some time…but these are really big and serious issues. We need to pay attention and at least we must think if people are raising their voices…it means there is something fatal or nasty happening behind the scenes….. So why not address and call all nationalities to ask them for their hand and make them aware, that what is happening cant be neglected….

    thanks guys

  14. Oz says:

    Well done guys!

    Impressive first issue!

Shall do my best to send it on…!

  15. Jane Brock says:

The article in Coca-Cola strikes a note to my own family. My father (has passed away in 1999), worked for Coca-cola in northern Philippines. He was the Vice-President of their union at Coca-cola and was almost killed during their strikes. My father suffered long-term disability as a consequence of the repression and was forced to early retirement.
This magazine is fantastic! Yes, I will sign-up and also pass this on to my network, friends and relatives.

  16. David Robinson says:

Wow! I just read my first edition of the Vagabond cover to cover. What a wonderful debut for what is sure to become a leading local publication in voicing the truth about environmental and human rights issues. The commentary on coke-a-cola was thoroughly researched and cogently written. Who knew the extent to which corporations such as coke wield their political power to exploit workers in developing countires, like India and Columbia, for profit. Well done to everyone involved with the first issue; I can’t wait for the second!

    Keep fighting the good fight!

  17. Shaun Ponting says:

I’ve been waiting for something like this as I, for one, care about what happens to our planet, the people in it and the way its treated in it’s current close-to-fragile state. I’ve always wanted to help in ways more than just recycling and not wasting water, food, elec etc. I’ve always hit the blank wall of ‘well-how-is-just-little-old-me-going-to-help-in-any-major-way’

Your articles are packed full to the brim with vital information a brain like mine is hungry for. Now little old me can be knowledgeable about who the goodies and the baddies are. What to buy, what not to and how to go about it all.

I like what you guys are doing!
Very interesting articles, especially the one about coca cola.

I will definitley send it on to all my family and friends.

Keep up the blood, sweat and tears. It’s well worth it.

    Shaun (Cape Town, S.Africa)

  18. André Braga says:

    Great first issue!
Even though I’m not from Australia, the main issue is great and makes us think on how every tiny thing we do has a “why”, a “what for”, an impact and a meaning.
You are doing it well, keep on going, we need things like these.

    Greeting from Brazil!

  19. Amanda Freestont says:

So I was up until 4.30 this morning reading the first issue of The Vagabond and the ethical consumers guide.
You guys have done really, really well.
Makes it much easier to be conscious of your actions as a consumer when there is someone willing to give you information surrounding the companies and what they really stand for.
    Thanks team :)
